ART AND RHYTHM ON CORVIGLIA
DEODATO ARTE FOR LANGOSTERIA
Deodato Arte is a brand with art galleries in Milan, Rome, Porto Cervo, Chia, Pietrasanta, Courmayeur, Padua, Brussels and St. Moritz. Since 2010 it has exhibited works by modern and contemporary artists of international renown, such as Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst and Banksy, with a strong focus on Pop, Street and Urban cultures, in both one-man and group shows featuring artists like Romero Britto, David LaChapelle and Mr. Brainwash.
David LaChapelle is famous for his hyper-realistic editorial portraits, highly saturated and often controversial, done in an ironic style that combines elements of Surrealism and Pop Art.
book of life
Each of the hand-painted butterflies represents one of the 2,547 children saved from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, who, thanks to the charitable association, were given a chance to start a new life. The pages of this book are full of poems, diary entries and songs written by children who died in Auschwitz, and the central poem is entitled "The butterfly", by Pavel Friedmann, who wrote it when he was 13 years old.
BUTTERFLY - WHALE POP, SIZE S
The masterpiece is realized in fiberglass, powdered marble and resin, in the sinuously rounded form of a majestic whale. The bright colors, with a predominance of red, are embellished by decorative details like butterflies and floral motifs.
SOOTY THE BEAR 400%
The character, a typical anthropomorphic bear of the Bearbrick family, is Sooty, the star of a children’s TV show created by Harry Corbett in 1948, featuring a yellow bear puppet.
The piece presents an intriguing face of a classic sculpture placed on an elegant pedestal, colored in a brilliant electric blue and captioned with the ambiguous word "Look". Fortuna, who has a reputation for fusing the past and the present, has created a fascinating work in wood, painted with acrylics, that exudes a compact and allusive essence.
CAPITAN AMERICA - marvel metal spray cans
The spray cans represent Mr. Brainwash’s tribute to the iconic symbol of Street Art, elevating it to the level of a work of art.
David LaChapelle was born in Connecticut in 1963. He moved to New York when he was 17 and was hired by Andy Warhol to work for Interview Magazine. From that time on, LaChapelle became one of the most frequently published photographers in the world: his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, including the National Portrait Gallery (London, the Musee de Monnaie (Paris), the Barbican Centre (London), the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Musee D'Orsay (Paris).
Born in Boston, David Kracov studied at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design and his debut in animation was for the Brad Pitt film, Cool World. He has worked with Disney Animation, Don Bluth Animation, Rich Animation and Warner Bros. Today he is one of the most prominent artists on the market: his metal sculptures captivate the viewer.
Arnaud Nazare-Aga, a pop artist born in 1965, stands out for his masterful creations; vibrant, brilliantly colored sculptures. In recent years, his work has been shown in important international venues, both in Asia and in Europe, like Art Stage Singapore, AAF Milano and the Venice Art Biennial.
Bearbricks are collectible art toys shaped like anthropomorphic bears, produced by the Japanese company Medicom Toy. They made their debut in 2001, at the 12th World Character Convention, in Tokyo, marking a new step in the evolution of action figures. Bearbricks made the leap from action figures to collectible "art toys", iconic personages in urban culture. Bearbricks also feature limited edition collections, the fruit of collaborations with renowned artists and designers, including such names as Kaws, Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood.
Born in Milan in 1981, after completing his studies in design Daniele Fortuna moved to Ireland, where he began his love affair with wood while working in a lighting studio. His pieces combine woodwork and acrylic paint, exploiting an ample and audacious chromatic palette. His artistic production, influenced by De Chirico and Fontana, is characterized by the chromatic contamination of classic busts and the inclusion of a vast pop and contemporary iconography.
Fortuna builds a bridge between classicism and modernity by resuscitating the original multicolored aspect of ancient statues.
Thierry Guetta, better known as Mr. Brainwash, is a French street artist who began his career by filming other artists, like Space Invader and Banksy, and then embraced street art himself, with success. His works, based on themes like love and hope, combine stencils and spray paint in a style reminiscent of Pop Art, influenced by Warhol and Haring. His paintings, depicting personages such as Einstein and Chaplin, are coveted by collectors. In 2010 he collaborated with Banksy on the documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop”. Today, Mr. Brainwash is one of the world’s most highly regarded street artists.
